After Virat Kohli and KL Rahul slammed hundreds in India's Super 4 match against Pakistan at the Asia Cup, Sachin Tendulkar expressed his thoughts.
On Monday, renowned cricketer Sachin Tendulkar had a significant response to Virat Kohli's record-breaking performance against Pakistan. In the Super 4 match of the 2023 Asia Cup at Colombo's renowned R Premadasa Stadium, Team India defeated Babar Azam's Pakistan thanks in large part to centuries from Kohli and former vice captain KL Rahul. The match was delayed due to Colombo's terrible weather, and Kohli and Rahul started Team India's innings at 147-2 after a postponement.
In the rain-drenched game of the 2023 continental competition, batting greats Kohli and Rahul made history by destroying the bowling assault led by Shaheen Shah Afridi. The dynamic wicketkeeper-batter and former captain of India put together a record-breaking combination during which both batsmen scored hundreds. In the run-up to the ICC World Cup, batting legend Tendulkar cited a "huge positive" indicator for the record-breaking Asia Cup champions after centuries from Kohli and Rahul drove Rohit Sharma's Team India to a massive total of 356 against Pakistan.
Congratulations to Virat and KL for their 100s.One big positive sign for #TeamIndia is that all our top 6 batters - Rohit, Shubman, Virat, KL, Ishan and Hardik have scored runs at various stages in the 2 matches.Well played! Keep it up.#INDvPAK pic.twitter.com/yVspWsg4Ax— Sachin Tendulkar (@sachin_rt) September 11, 2023
Tendulkar's world record is broken by Kohli
In the just finished Super 4 match between India and Pakistan at the Asia Cup, Kohli broke Tendulkar's world record. Kohli became the fifth player to score 13,000 runs in One Day Internationals, breaking Tendulkar's illustrious mark (ODIs). Kohli has surpassed the Little Master to become the player to accumulate 13k ODI runs the quickest. While his idol Tendulkar needed 321 innings to score 13,000 runs in the 50-over format, Kohli accomplished the astounding achievement in just 267 runs.
