Here are
the five Indian cricketers who opted not to participate in the Yo-Yo Test
before the 2023 Asia Cup.
From the 17-player India Asia Cup team, 5 cricketers were exempted from the Yo-Yo Test.
The India cricket team is already well into their preparations for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. Before setting out on a journey to Sri Lanka, the Men in Blue are now in Alur and working up a sweat in a six-day training camp. Before the start of the camp, the team players even underwent a Yo-Yo Test that was required to demonstrate their level of fitness. While the majority of the 17-player team submitted to the demanding tests, five Indian cricketers were given a pass.
The BCCI excused a few Indian cricketers from the Yo-Yo Test for the following reason.
Bumrah, Krishna, Tilak, and Samson were excluded due to their most recent trip to Ireland. There is a general agreement that these players' present levels of fitness are well within acceptable ranges because they have just recently returned from their abroad tour. By allowing these cricketers to preserve their energy and concentrate on getting ready for the upcoming Asia Cup, the move shows the realistic approach used by the team management and BCCI.
Rahul, on the other hand, was left out of the Yo-Yo Test because the team physios and the board didn't want the cricketer to run the danger of getting hurt or overexerting themselves.
